did anyone watch the bachelor last nite? trista is hot! but i think he made the right decision in the end...but you could tell that he really wanted to like trista better since she was hotter, but it just wasn't happening. do you think they slept together? (remember that part where they turned off the cameras?) anyway, i liked this show so much better than those who wants to marry a millionaire/prince, etc...

hahah, you guys should take this quiz...are you a blogaholic? i'm kinda afraid to take it :P

do most of you think of me as being a girly girl, or a tomboy? (in between is not a choice). i try to be a tomboy for the most part, but that actually takes effort. the inner me is a girly, prissy, wanna be spoiled princess. but i like doing boy things, it's so much more fun. so if you had to pick, princess or tomboy? i'm just curious as to which one i really come off as.

i love the freedom that comes with being a boy. as a girl, i've always had to watch what i do, what i say, mainly watch my "reputation" there are definite benefits to being a girl too, so i'm not complaining, well, i am, ideally, i'd like to have the best of both worlds. but even though it's hard to believe, i was a tomboy as a kid. i watched transformers and he-man, i played spiderman on the playground, collected bugs, and i got into fights with boys all the time (kicked some ass too!). i only had one barbie that i got as a birthday present from someone. i ended up yanking its head off. the first time i realized that i would rather be a boy was this one summer where it was SOOOOOOOO hot and all the neighborhood boys were running around with their shirts off and i couldn't take mine off. it was the first time i encountered something that the boys could do but the girls couldn't. needless to say, it sucked.

these days, i still find great joy and interest in typical "boy" things, but i've also got that foofoo-ness in me (see feb 22, 2002 entry). i dunno where i'm going with this (do i ever?)...really, i'm just curious, if you had to pick one...which one do you see me as more?

i've discovered that i really suk at...not small talk (though i'm not that great at that either), but i guess it's called...office bantering? yah, that's it...

i joined a softball team at work and our first game is this coming sunday. through this, i've met a lotta new people at work (99% of whose names i can't remember), and they like to make little comments here and there about the game. it's kinda like that day we all got bonuses and i didn't know what to say back when people said "don't spend it all in one place". i dunno how to reply. i kinda feel like i'm the sweet little girly girl of the office (or at least i come off that way), so i don't wanna say some really mean comebacks (not like i can come up with one that quick anyway), but what should i say instead?

for example, if someone says "are you ready for the big day?", i just say "yup" and smile, which is acceptable, but really boring. if someone says "you guys better watch out on sunday!" i'm dumfounded. i have no clue what to say back. "okay"? i guess i'd be more comfortable if first of all, i wasn't a girl, especially with that reputation i mentioned above. it's not that i care to keep that reputation, but i dunno, now that i have it, i kinda feel a little bit of an obligation to uphold it.

anyway, it'd also be easier if i knew these people. i feel comfortable joking around with people i know, even if they are co-workers, but these people are basically strangers, but it's even worse than strangers. with strangers, who cares if i say something dum, do something retarded, i'll never see 'em again. if i do, they probably won't remember me, and if they do remember me, i don't remember them, so it really makes no difference (to me at least, ignorance is bliss). as for these co-workers, i see 'em hallways, i may have to work with them in the future. stories go around, rumors fly...so any suggestions on replies that i could use?

hahahahah! this radio station was doing a bit on the most un-romantic proposals this morning. one chick called in and said she was going to the bathroom, leans over to get toilet paper and written on the toilet paper are the words "i love you, will you marry me?" how sweet...take notes boys!

today's subject: the retarded post office.

they follow no economical logic whatsoever! i send VHS tapes to eddie in hong kong every once in a while. usually i send it via global priority and it costs $5. last time, i happened to have 2 tapes, so i figure, send 'em together, it should be cheaper, right??? WRONG! $17! (if i sent them separately, it'd be $10, for you non-sciency, more artsy-fartsy ones out there) how does that make any sense?!?!?! (17 is more than 10, again, for the artsy fartsy ones)

now today...i went back, and since there's really no rush so i thought i'd save money by not sending it via priority but just normal mail (makes sense right?) i gave the dude the package, he asked "is there any rush in getting this there?" and i said no. he says "good. it'll be $7 something for air and $6 something for ground, which would you like to do?" i was confused for a sec. they already got me last time with that dum sending it together is more expensive thing, so i said, "i send these packages a lot via priority mail and i remember it only being 5 bucks" and he says "yup, it's cheaper and faster that way". YO, RETARD! if you knew that all along why didn't bother telling me instead of saying "good" when i said there's no rush! then he asks, "would you like to do that instead?" DUH! OF COURSE!

dum asses...

yay! clap for nancy! i ran yesterday! i haven't ran since i came back from hong kong :( first it was shin splints, then the week i decided to start running again, i got sick. so since yesterday i decided that was finally getting over my cold, i ran! good thing too because i'm getting huge. anyway, yay for me!

does this make me self-centered? i like to read my own blogs. like over and over...not just checking for typos or whatever, but just reading what i've written. i guess i'm also re-thinking what i've written, like making sure it doesn't sound stupid, that all the logic and arguments and points i've made are valid, that i haven't missed any opportunities to add in something funny...but isn't that kinda obsessing over it? for school papers, you'd be lucky if i even proof-read it once, and that was for a grade. i guess the opinions of my friends (and strangers, but i don't really blog for them...sorry strangers) means more to me than grades. aaawww...doesn't that make you guys feel special? or does that make you guys suspicious of me for being fake, being nice just so that you guys'll like me? well, i'm not, i'm naturally this sweet :) (more self-centered-ness). big head...is that why one of my nicknames is "fathead"...AMEER!?!? did you think that i was self-centered and decided to call me fathead to give me a hint but not be too mean about it? hmm...i think that's what happened. my head's really not that fat. my face is big, yes, so you coulda called me fatface (almost sounds like fartface). you've got some serious answering to do mister!

self-centered-ness...but is it really? maybe it's insecurities. in my case, i'd have to say a little of both. i admit that i'm a bit self-centered (more like overly confident) in some areas, but am also very insecure in many others and need that reassurance that i get from other people, and one way to prompt it out of them is to re-read my blogs to make sure they're good so that i get good comments as a pat on the back, tell people how great i am so that they can tell me the same thing back...kinda weird isn't it? maybe i should just get a parrot, that'd solve all my insecurity problems :)

self-centered-ness can also often be mistaken as confidence. or no, i mean the other way around...confidence can easily be mistaken for self-centered-ness...o but that's a whole nother (nother? other?) issue that i don't feel like getting into today...maybe some other time...

dooode! i went paintballing this weekend with coworkers and it was FUN! nice, conservative guys turn ruthless out there! check out the pictures. i'm only in the group pictures and like three others, look for a purple (of course) shirt. anyway, fun fun fun. and expensive expensive expensive. we were all really trigger happy and bought a TON of paintballs (i went through 1000 on my own), they made bank off of us that day...but it's all good, it's not a frequent thing. i got picked on quite a bit, as usual...big dudes said they were gonna pick me up and use me as a shield, others told me that i misunderstood and felt it was necessary to clarify that we were paintballing, not picnicing. but i showed them! i kicked some booty! got some of my booty kicked in the process too, but it's all good!

AND...talked to eddie!!!! yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! i haven't talked to him for like 3 weeks! sad, huh? :( his mommy is coming to san diego in may, i'm a little nervous. he'll hopefully come back in late june, early july for 2 weeks or so. i miss him...a lot...=*(

AND...i think i'm finally getting over my cold! it's about time, over a month! ridiculous...

now, if i just didn't have to work today, it'd be a great day!
